New Year’s Resolutions
July 2007
Dear family of Rotary,

As we begin this Rotary year, let us take a moment to reflect on the last 12 months and the important goals that Past Trustee Chair Luis Vicente Giay set for our Rotary Foundation in 2006-07. But I caution you that we don’t have time for too much reflection. The year that has just begun will pass quickly, and we must get to work immediately to show the world that Rotary Shares and The Rotary Foundation cares.
Our goals for 2007-08 are fourfold: To finish the job of global polio eradication and prove that a polio-free world is a realistic dream; to fulfill the promise of Every Rotarian, Every Year through individual contributions that will give us the power to change lives; to show that peace is possible through support of our Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution; and to reconnect with Rotary Foundation alumni, some of our most valuable but often overlooked assets.
I hope you will join me in pursuit of these goals, because they cannot be achieved from the top down. The better world that our Foundation seeks will only grow from the grass roots, through your support and dedication. Let’s start now, today, to demonstrate how Rotary Shares its love and its resources through our Rotary Foundation.

Trustee Chair, The Rotary Foundation, 2007-08
