"Service Above Self"

The 4-Way Test
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Community Events

Our club undertakes a number of initiatives in the community both to provide service and to generate funds to donate to other organizations. Some of our recent activities include:

Urban Fishing Derby
This event offers an excellent avenue for service. It provides an environment for children with special needs to catchy fish in a local pool. Our club provides a barbeque lunch for the children and monetary support for the event.
Ancaster Heritage Day’s Soccer Tournament

Held each year in June and August our club really pulls together for a fun day serving over 120 Youth Soccer teams and their families’ hot dogs and hamburgers.

Over 10,000 people attend each year. Be sure to join us for the fun!

Annual Social Gaming Event
This is our primary yearly fundraiser. Last year over $15,000 in revenue was generated from this event, and donated to local charities. This event is a blast!!!
Annual Ethical Dilemma Contest
Each year we invite elementary and secondary schools in the community to enter into a contest to find the best solution to a set of ethical problems. The students' proposed lotions are reviewed by our club, and prizes for the most outstanding responses awarded.

Wine Tasting with Tony Aspler

An evening with renowned Canadian wine expert Tony Aspler. Tony is an author, radio host and featured speaker internationally. The October 3rd, 2007 event featured a Wine and Cheese, Silent Auction and Book Signing.

This exciting event was dedicated to raising funds for two important charitable causes:
Hamilton Rotary Sunset’s Local Annual Fishing Derby for Special Needs Persons and
Grapes for Humanity – Tony Aspler’s charity aiding victims of landmines worldwide. The evening was a great success for our club nearly selling out for our first wine tasting event. Thanks to all for their generous support. If you would like to be notified of our next one or to help out with donations please let us know.

We are also always looking for new fund-raising and service ideas in the community! Let us know what your great ideas are!!!
